 Seattle, WA (April, 2016)—The Tamara Childs Collection adds a new graphic design to their exquisite portfolio of hand-gilded creations. ‘Roadz’ was created by Tamara’s son, Adam Childs, a master gilder and designer for the Childs brand. Adam was inspired to create an iconic design with a more modern, masculine pattern that complimented some of the bolder glassware. “Whenever we design something new, we try to let the attributes of the glass we've chosen influence the pattern and treatment that shows up on the finished product. I try to consider things like size, shape, texture, profile, different lines, even the function of the piece if it's supposed to have one,” says Adam Childs. "My influences for the 'Roadz" pattern came from the bold, clean lines and the subtle taper on our large vases." |
